My little booklet Once upon a time aimé Césaire

This is it, here is the english version of Once upon a time Aimé Césaire: a Martiniquan Poet.
This booklet is for young readers and students, just to give a flair of the man and artist, just to tease the curiosity and provide a minimum of information to young generation and english speakers who do not know about him.

All the books of my publishing company based in ST Lucia are printed in 3 languages: english, french and spanish - now communication and distribution are the challenges. If you know about any education institution interested in providing appropriate and cheap material to students... please contact me.

Martinique, Aimé Césaire already one year !

I was in Martinique last week and it was the first anniversary of Aimé Césaire death.

The program of activities is long but I assist to 3 events:

- at the cemetery the Maire of Fort de France - Serge Letchimy had a little ceremony with less than one hundred persons

- the Parti Progressiste Martiniquais had a breakfast - they sale T-shirts and books

- the SERMAC - cultural center create a show with the students of art classes in presence of officials.

I am informing you that french post office did create a stamp with Césaire

Lancement du Livret Il était une fois Aimé Césaire, mercredi 28 janvier

As I said in November 08, this is the launching of the "Once uppon a time Aimé Césaire" booklet for kids.

Launching will be done by the Town of Fort de France in Martinique who ordered it, tomorrow Wednesday 28 January 2009, it is a little booklet with a lot of images and short texts, trying to explain who was Aimé Césaire - a great poet and writer from Martinique, and what was so interesting in his life - as an important politician of Martinique in France.

I created it with the main idea that the kids will remember 2 things: a poem and the concept of Negritude.

I hope we will translate it in English and Spanish pretty soon to give the Caribbean exposure this great man need. This is a pity to see that is better well known in Africa that in his region...
